My parents are from St Louis, grew up in the 50’s & 60’s. I got them this book for Christmas and they just smiled with excitement page after page, I think they knew probably 90% of the places in the book !!!! Very well done 🙂

If you lived in St. Louis, MO in the 1950s – 1970s, especially if you have a soft spot for nostalgia, you will almost certainly love this book.
Rather than trying to give an in-depth history of the area, the authors cover most of the key hot spots in the area with a few pictures per page and accompanying short blurbs about each. While at first it seems a bit short on content, it is very well done for what it is, a paperback that you can leave on your coffee table as a conversation piece, and that you will enjoy looking through from time to time.
There are many pictures in this book that I have not been able to find in years of casual searching on the Internet..River Roads mall in it’s heyday, Jamestown mall when it was just opening, pictures of Chain of Rocks FunFair park (including the front of the “Haunted Cave”), St. Jude Hall, and many others.
All in all, this is a great little book, more than worth the price if you lived in (or especially if you grew up) in North St. Louis in the 1950s-1970s.

My husband has lived in North County most of his life and getting this book has brought back many memories. I received this product in a timely manner and in excellent condition.

I was skeptical at first when I considered purchasing this book, but it has become one of “my favorite things” to give this holiday season! It is a great look back at the “cruizin’ years” with a unique scrapbook feel….also, a great conversation piece to share around your holiday table! Good price, good stocking stuffer, good memories!
