Meet the Authors

Craig Kaintz

Craig grew up in North City (St. Engelbert’s Parish) and moved to North County (Our Lady of Good Counsel – OLGC) in Bellefontaine Neighbors in 1964. He met Rose in seventh grade at OLGC. Following Augustinian Academy, Craig attended St. Louis University, graduated in 1974, and then joined General American Life Insurance Company. Rose and Craig were married in 1976 at OLGC and have three children, Lauren, Christopher and Brendyn. Craig retired from Towers Watson in 2010 where he was the managing principal of the St. Louis office.


Bill Kasalko

After graduating from Labouré, Bill went on to St. Louis University, graduated in 1968, and later received his MA from Webster University. He and his wife Jan married in 1970 and have two sons, Jeff and David. He retired after 38 years in the insurance industry. He came to know Craig Kaintz when both worked at an employee benefits firm in 1980. At this time they realized they grew up on the same street in Bellefontaine Neighbors. They have remained friends since then and co-authored Cruizin’ North County, published in 2008. They have teamed up again to write a new book with more North County memories, Let’s Go Cruizin’ Again.
